Offering long-haul flights at low prices, Air Asia X is a much-anticipated offering by Air Asia, the leading low-cost carrier in Malaysia. GXM was invited to mark Air Asia's new milestone with a video for the event which was jointly launched by Dato’ Tony Fernandes and Sir Richard Branson of the Virgin empire.





THE BRIEF

AirAsia launched its new, long-haul flights at low prices, via AirAsiaX. GXM was invited to mark this new milestone with a video for the launch event. The video should highlight AirAsia’s success in changing the way Malaysian’s travel.

 

THE SOLUTION

To encapsulate the idea that before Air Asia, the closest most Malaysians came to flying is merely the paper plane. The video would feature Tony Fernandes presenting the success story while interacting with a 3D paperplane which gradually transforms into a real airplane, a metaphor of how AirAsia revolutionized the way Malaysians travel.
